Can Anxiety be Treated?
CAN ANXIETY BE TREATED?
I say with full confidence and authority, “YES”. Anxiety is not real and it is all in the head. If you say you can overcome anxiety, then you will recover. If you say you cannot deal with anxiety, then you cannot recover. However, my sincere advice is that before you use any method to recover from this devastating illness, first have a comprehensive check-up by a medical doctor to ensure there is nothing wrong with you physically. Once you are certified physically fit, you will feel 50 percent better. There are many causes of anxiety. If the main cause of anxiety is the brain’s chemical imbalance, then it is a medical problem.
As such, anxiety is treated using medication. Medications used to treat severe to mild anxiety are popular antidepressants such as Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Desyrel, Elavil, Xanax, Ativan, Valium, Prozac, Paxil and Celexa. These medications offer temporary relief to thousands of people suffering from anxiety, panic attacks, and depression.
“We must realize, however, that all living cells are continuously subject to imperfect nutrition and mental disease is known to result from malnutrition, as, for example, in pellagra. In the light of these considerations, we would be foolhardy indeed to take for granted that the nutrition of the brain cells is automatically satisfactory in those
who are afflicted or threatened with mild or severe mental disease.” Dr. Roger J, Williams, writing in Nutrition Against Disease. (http:// www.ctds.info/anxiety_diet_treatment.html)
According to health professionals, medication is the solution since anxiety is related to the brain’s chemical imbalance such as neurotransmitters. But the reality is that these medications do more harm than good, creating incapacitating effects in the brain and causing the patients to become more anxious and depressed.
In my humble view, antidepressants are NOT the solution. These medications are just a band aid. The trigger-happy “Health Experts” must open their hearts and minds to diagnose the underlying cause of depression and anxiety. The chemical imbalance approach is just a theory; it is not based on scientific facts. The human brain still remains a complete mystery and cannot be understood fully by experimenting with animals (Barry, 2009). I am NOT convinced of the benefit of medications on anxiety disorder.
